CURCHOREM: Sixteen persons were left injured with four sustaining grievous injuries when a speeding passenger mini-bus on way to Curchorem from Quepem collided with a goods carrier coming from the opposite direction at Tanki near Tilamol-Quepem at around 9 am.
Seriously injured persons include the driver of the mini bus Franky Culaco (28), Jayant Prabhu Gaonkar (16) from Rivona who are admitted in GMC while Akasab Patil (28) and Rajendra Gaonkar (40) from Avedem are being treated in Hospicio Hospital. Driver of pick-up Durga Wadar has also suffered minor injuries. Except for the seriously injured, all others have been discharged from hospital.
Police have booked the mini bus driver for rash and negligent driving. Hawaldar Rohidas Gaonkar is investigating the case under the supervision of PI Pravin Gawas. Quepem PI Ravindra Desai is the temporary in-charge.
