CURCHOREM
Deputy town planner of Quepem Manguirish Verenkar has revoked the no objection certificate (NOC) issued for construction of a multi-storey building and also the completion certificate issued for the said project situated opposite Pontemol-Curchorem playground.
In the revocation order issued to the owner of the building, the deputy town planner has stated that his office had received complaints from the president of Guild of Active Members for Action and Review (GOAMAR), Rock Pinto wherein he had pointed out several irregularities in the construction of the building and demanded revocation of NOC and completion order issued for the building.
In view of the complaints, the Town and country Planning office issued a showcause notice to the owner of the building wherein it was pointed out that while issuing the NOC it was stated that the permission is liable to be revoked if the project is based on false information, wrong plan, wrong calculations, false documents or any other issue and the builder was asked to reply within 15 days.
As the owner failed to give reply to the showcause notice within the stipulated time, the deputy town planner revoked the NOC and the completion certificate.
In a similar manner, the Curchorem Cacora Municipal Council has also revoked the NOC and occupancy certificate issued to the building owner after the latter failed to give reply to their showcause notice. The owner has also been informed that the water and power connections given to the building stand cancelled.
Pinto told this daily that his NGO will approach the vigilance department and demand an inquiry into the matter and seal the shop which is functioning in the said building.
