One booked for misappropriating motor cycle, cash Rs 25,000

MARGAO: The Colva police have registered an offence against Malappa Konegal who was employed for renting out motor bikes for dishonestly misappropriating a  motor cycle and cash of Rs 25,000 for personal use.

According to police, an offence upon written application of Francisco Cardozo a resident of  4th ward Colva, Salcete, has been registered against Konegal who is residing near Bollywood Hotel, 3rd ward Colva, who was employed by the complainant to work for him at Shop No 448/1 in renting out motor bikes to customers and was entrusted with the motor bike/scooter belonging to the complainant, took away motor cycle  and cash of Rs 25,000/- and dishonestly used the same for his personal use.

Police also said that the alleged accused is not yet traced  and further investigation is in progress.

Meanwhile Colva police said that they received a phone call from Casualty Police, Nandesh of Hospicio Hospital, Margao, informing that Alcino Costao Afonso (59), a resident of Vasvaddo, Benaulim, was brought at Hospicio Hospital, Margao, as a case of fall, wherein duty doctor declared him dead. Further investigation in progress.

Accordingly the police visited the hospital and conducted inquest panchanama over the body, which is preserved in morgue of Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC), Bambolim.
