MARGAO: Margao town police Thursday arrested 11 Tibetans, who were protesting against the organisation of the BRICS summit, scheduled to be held in the state from October 15.
Margao police said 11 students including some females were arrested.
According to Margao police, the 11 Tibetans, based in Delhi, reached Margao on Thursday and protested against the holding of the summit.
Police said that they were arrested under Section 174 of the Indian Penal Code and produced before the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Margao, who, according to police, warned them and asked them to leave.
