Snow’s Football Academy, Raia registered a hard-fought 3-1 win against Ave Maria A&WC in the GFA U-16 League match played at Raia grounds on Sunday.
Harichandra scored in the 10th minute to give Snow’s FA early lead, and three minutes later Norman Cris made it 2-0 in their favour.
Ave Maria tried to come back into the game with some counter forays and finally pulled one goal back through Gavin Rodirgues in the 36th minute.
The proceedings in the second session were fought on equal footing, but Velroy’s strike in the 80th minute made the issue safe for Snow’s FA as they won 3-1.
At Nagoa grounds, UYC Bogmalo defeated Pax of Nagoa 3-2 in a closely contested match to earn full points.
Meanwhile, Union of Chinchinim Villagers failed to turn up for their match against Navelim Villagers Union scheduled at Rosary grounds, Navelim.
According to the organisers, Navelim Villagers Union team arrived much ahead while the referees and the match commissioner were also present. When asked whether the team present for the match would be given the walk over, the local organiser said that the match commissioner will submit the report and that the final decision lies with the
GFA.
