VASCO: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government will cover entire state under ‘Housing for All’ by 2022 under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) of the central government if voted to power, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar said on Monday.
Addressing BJP workers during the kick-starting of election campaign in the presence of BJP national president Amit Shah, Union Minister for Ayush (independent charge) Shripad Naik, BJP state unit president Vinay Tendulkar, South Goa MP Narendra Sawaikar, BJP candidates of four constituencies of Mormugao taluka Milind Naik, Carlos Almeida, Mauvin Godinho, Alina Saldanha besides others, Parrikar said that the BJP government will cover entire state under Housing for All scheme over the next five years before the next assembly polls which will be held in 2022. He also disclosed that the houses located on communidade or government land will be legalised if BJP retains power.
Laying stress on employment facilities, Parrikar said that an action plan for skill development of local youth will be launched in order to absorb them in the Goa Shipyard Ltd adding, “The BJP will see to it that no youth remains unemployed after the next five years in the state. Wiping out unemployment will be the major agenda of BJP in the ensuring assembly election.”
Parrikar claimed that during the last five years tenure of BJP government in the state, it has given a massive push to infrastructure development and fulfilling all schemes under the social sector.
Union Minister for Ayush (independent charge) Shripad Naik said that he is confident that the people in Mormugao taluka will elect all the four BJP candidates.
South Goa MP Narendra Sawaikar, BJP state unit president Vinay Tendulkar, Dabolim candidate Mauvin Godinho, Mormugao candidate Milind Naik, Vasco candidate Carlos Almeida and Cortalim candidate Alina Saldanha also spoke.
