PANAJI: Keeping to norms of poll code in force in the poll-bound state, the Goa police have suspended a police inspector Krishna Sinari attached to the Anjuna police station for the alleged dereliction of duty.
Sinari had allegedly failed to act upon a complaint on alleged loud music at Shiva Valley, a beach shack in Anjuna, and that activities at the location were said to be going on beyond permissible time in violation of the model code of conduct.
Based on the inquiry conducted, a senior police officer had submitted a report to the state police following which Sinari has been placed under suspension.
An order in this regard has been issued by DIG Bhairon Singh Gurjar. Sinari is likely to face disciplinary proceedings. The incident had occurred last week.
Sources said the state chief electoral officer had instructed the police to initiate action against the PI for the alleged violation of code of conduct.
