MARGAO: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) president Luizinho Faleiro on Thursday alleged that BJP, fearing Congress’ resurrection in the upcoming assembly election, was resorting to ways that are leading to fragmentation of Goan vote.
Addressing the media, Faleiro said that BJP was importing politicians from other parties, ignoring its own revolting party cadre. “It is interesting to see that the amount of money being pumped in Navelim to take attention of Navelim electorate away from the constituency’s core issues of power, water , waste management and maintenance of utilities,’’ he said.
He appealed to the people of Goa not to fall prey to those attempting to divide secular vote. These political parties are out to divide the vote like the way it was done during the opinion poll fifty years ago, he said, further alleging, BJP along with all other new political parties wants another five years to plunder Goa. District president of Congress Subhash Phaldesai and Swati Kerkar were present for the press briefing.
