Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar will meet the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in New Delhi on March 30, and is expected to discuss with the Prime Minister the cabinet expansion, including possibility of inducting the former Valpoi MLA Vishwajit Rane in the cabinet.

Coming out with this information, state BJP president Vinay Tendulkar said that his party will also hold several meetings across Goa from March 31 to April 3, in order to carry out introspection of the downfall of BJP at the recently-conducted state assembly polls.

Earlier, Tendulkar attended a meeting in the city headed by the Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar to finalise the programme as regards felicitation of the national president of the BJP Amit Shah, in Goa next month.

The cabinet expansion is expected to take place after the Goa visit of Shah.

Tendulkar also said that the alliance partners of the Parrikar-led BJP government will have no objection for the setting up of the BJP’s organisational network in their respective constituencies, ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

The state BJP chief further said that the Goan people voted against the arrogance of the MLAs, during the recent state assembly election. “People sometimes tolerate corruption but not arrogance, which is the lesson we learnt from this election,” he added, pointing out that his party is concerned over the defeat of its sitting MLAs and ministers at these polls.
