PANAJI: Crime branch police claimed to have busted an online prostitution racket and have arrested three accused, including a woman, while three women victims have been rescued.
The accused have been identified as Joseph from Delhi, Jacob and Piya (details not known).
The police informed that women victims are from Bangalore and Delhi, and added that they have been sent to the state-run protective home at Merces.
According to the police, the accused under the garb of escort websites were allegedly running the prostitution racket.
The police said that based on information, they laid a trap and arrested Joseph, who had come to deliver the women to a prospective customer in the city at around 5 pm.
The deal was set for Rs 60,000, the police said. Subsequently, the police arrested the other two accused Jacob and Piya.
