To kick in e-governance in the state in a big way, the revenue department will most probably launch e-district portal and streamlined mutation service on May 15.
The new initiatives, which aim at providing time-bound delivery of services to the public, will be launched by Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar.
Various issues pertaining to e-governance and time-bound delivery of services were discussed at a review meeting called by Revenue Minister Rohan Khaunte on Wednesday at the Secretariat. Senior officials of the department and district collectors attended the meeting.
After emerging from the meeting, Khaunte told ‘The Navhind Times’ that he had reviewed the spadework undertaken in the offices of collectors, deputy collectors and mamlatdars to act upon the initiatives including the time-bound delivery of services and ‘administration at doorstep’ under the e-governance
project.
He said that many things have been put in place after the initiatives had been announced last month, adding that the government wants to implement the initiatives in the next three months.
Under the e-district portal, the government intends to provide online facility for issuing certificates as regards residence, caste, divergency and others.
Digital lockers will be created for the citizens, wherein all kind of required documents will be uploaded in the system, doing away with repetitive submission of documents for obtaining every certificate.
Under the initiative to streamline mutation process of land, the government has already linked the sub-registrar offices with the revenue department so as to facilitate making a payment for sale deeds at sub-registrar offices.
