The Old Goa police has attached two four-wheelers and recovered a cash of Rs 70,000 in connection with the dacoity, which was reported on March 7 at a house in Corlim.
According to the police, the vehicles attached are taxi and a jeep.
The taxi was used to conduct survey and planning of the targeted house and the jeep was used to carry out the dacoity.
The police said that the taxi belonged to one of the accused Dattatray Gawde while the jeep was taken on a rent from North Goa.
The police informed that Rs 70,000 have been recovered from the house of one of the accused Pushpa Gadeker from Canca Parra.
The police had arrested four accused persons, two said to be members of the notorious Pardhi gang while the other two from Goa including a woman who reportedly assisted the gang to carry out the dacoity.
The police are on the lookout of five more accused of the Pardhi gang.
According to the police Vijaya Patoli (40), a resident of Satara and Siddarth Barse (27) from Ahamadnagar were arrested first, and subsequently Dattatray Gawde (37) from the PDA colony Corlim and Pushpa Gadeker (52) were arrested.
All are currently in the police custody.
Patoli and Barse were arrested by the Bijapur police recently in connection with a dacoity.
They had admitted of committing similar offences in Goa. Both are said to be members of the notorious Pardhi gang, known for dacoities.
Subsequently, Old Goa police took the accused into custody, and during their interrogation involvement of Dattatray and Pushpa was revealed.
According to the police, Pushpa and Dattatray assisted the dacoits in identifying the targets (houses where they could find wealth), provided vehicles and other help, for which the two were given share from the stolen booty.
In the wee hours of March 7, seven masked men armed with knife and dandas had effected entry into a house at Corlim, and had constrained the family members and made off with a cash and gold ornaments, all amounting to around Rs 8 lakh.
The unidentified men had also taken away the car of the family, however, it was found abandoned at Borda-Margao on March 10.
