PANAJI: Newly-elected members and sarpanchas of various village panchayats from Sattari taluka, accompanied by the Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Thursday called on the Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar at his official residence at Altinho.
While speaking to media persons, Vishwajit claimed that 105 out of 115 panchayat members from Sattari taluka, who have been elected in recently held elections, are his supporters and pledged to be with Manohar Parrikar-led government for the development of villages.
He also said that besides the panchayat members from Sattari taluka, the elected members of Latambarcem panchayat in Bicholim taluka also met the Chief Minister and assured support to strengthen BJP.
When asked whether panchayat members from Poriem constituency were part of the delegation, Vishwajit said that all the elected panchayat members from Sattari taluka have decided to get united for the development of their villages. His father and senior Congress leader Pratapsing Rane is sitting MLA of Poriem.
