Condemning the statement made by Sadhvi Saraswati against beef eaters, Congress party on Friday staged a protest outside the Congress House, burned her picture and urged the Chief Minister to file an FIR and arrest her immediately.
Sadhvi had made a statement during the All India Hindu Convention at Ramnathi that beef eaters in Goa should be hanged. Congress party affirmed that Goans are peace-loving people and she should not try to blacken the image of Goa by making such statements.
The Congress activists mostly consisted of women who accused Sadhvi of spewing venom of hatred. Swati Kerkar, Pratima Coutinho, Deepali Kumar, Avinash Tawares, Janardhan Bhandari, Kavlekar’s wife, Rajan Ghate and others were present.
They said that Sadhvi is being condemned throughout the country and every nook and corner of the state for making such a statement adding she should know that Goa is part of India.
