Vavurla area, a hilly locality under Kheddem-Barcem village panchayat jurisdiction, has around 200 people inhabitants and lacks proper facilities.
For instance, the government primary school here does not have a structure of its own and is run from a private house since its inception. The school has 11 children enrolled from classes I-IV.
Speaking to this daily, deputy sarpanch of Kheddem-Barcem panchayat Datta Velip alleged that the government was not taking any initiative to construct a school for the children of the area. He said that there was a proposal for construction of a school; however, nothing has progressed on that front.
Due to improper schooling facility, some parents have enrolled their children in other schools. These children live at their relative’s place and pursue their education in the hope of a better future.
It is learnt that three more children have been enrolled at the school for this academic year. With these three, the number has gone up to 14. Parents have made a fervent plea that a new school structure be built for the welfare of the village children.
