CURCHOREM: Curchorem police on Saturday arrested Saish Naik from Xirfod-Curchorem for his alleged involvement in duping several persons of their money on false promises of jobs, alongwith with Swapnil Naik, who was arrested earlier and is presently on a 7-day remand.
Police have seized several household items including cupboards, sofa set etc, belonging to Saish, which he had kept in the house of his to be in-laws at Baagwada-Curchorem.
Swapnil from Madegal-Kakoda was arrested for duping around 24 persons of over Rs 10 lakh by giving false assurances of jobs and bank loans.
A person from Khamamol had told the police alleging that Swapnil had taken Rs 45,000 from him assuring a loan of Rs 4 lakh after posing as a bank officer from a Panaji bank.
He said later he had taken the money back from him after realising that he was not genuine. Reliable sources informed that many more youth are involved in this racket and police are investigating the case in full swing.
