VASCO: Eighteen passengers were injured in an accident after a Margao-bound Panaji KTC shuttle service bus went off the road and crashed into roadside debris near the Cabral petrol pump on a slope at Verna on Saturday morning.
As per available information from Verna police, the accident took place at around 10 a.m when the driver of the bus lost control over the vehicle near the petrol pump.
Around 18 passengers of the total 40, travelling to Margao in the ill-fated bus bearing registration number GA-03-X-0200, were injured in the mishap.
The injured were moved to GMC and Hospicio hospitals and were discharged later except for driver and a woman passenger who were admitted to GMC hospital.
Verna police have registered a case of accident. Police sub inspector Raghoba Kamat is investigating the case under the supervision of PI Shailesh Narvekar.
