The Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) has given an e-tender notice for the empanelment of consultants for preparation of project reports, master plans, providing transaction advisory services, and project management support for various tourism infrastructure projects and allied infrastructure in the state.
Applications have been invited from well experienced, established and resourceful architects/ project management consultants for the purpose. The selected architect/ project management consultant will have to assist the government/ GTDC to conceive the particular projects after approval from central/ state governments, from their concept to commissioning.
The consultants will be empanelled in either of the two categories; category-A: project value of more than Rs 5 crore, and category-B: project value up to Rs 5 crore. In addition, the consultants empanelled under category-A would also be required to assist GTDC, on need basis, in transaction advisory services such as preparation of bid documents, and conducting bid process management for selection of private entities for development of the tourism projects/ services.
It may be recalled that the State Planning Board, during its recent meeting, held a detailed discussion on the state tourism master plan, and pulled up the tourism officials for the delay in preparation of the particular plan.
A presentation was also made before the members of the board by representatives of the KPMG Advisory Services Pvt Ltd, a consortium of which has been entrusted with preparing this plan. The deputy chairperson of the board, Dattaprasad Kholkar had observed during the meeting that although the tourism master plan is being prepared for more than a year, the related development has been unsatisfactory.
It is expected that aspects such as Goan cuisine, avi-tourism, agri-tourism, development of high quality coastal tourism infrastructure, and Goa as a wedding destination would find important space in the state tourism master plan.
