PANAJI: In a similar case reported late Wednesday night, pimps hoodwinked the Crime Branch police. The police, however, managed to rescue three victim girls.
Police said that the accused have been identified and will be nabbed soon. The accused Abdul Sattar and Rahul, both from Calangute, had reportedly hired a taxi, which dropped the girls at the designated location in Nerul in Bardez taluka. The accused did not accompany the girls. Police are on the lookout for the two accused along with one more accused (name withheld) who is said to be the main accused in the case.
“In such situations, it becomes difficult to track down the accused pimps. However, we have identified the two accused pimps and also the main accused. We are hopeful of tracking them down,” said Crime Branch SP Karthik Kashyap adding, “This seems to be a new method which pimps are now adopting so that they do not get arrested red-handed.”
The raid was conducted by Crime Branch team headed by police inspector Vishwesh Karpe near a hotel in Nerul. The victims are in the age group of 22 and 28 and from Mumbai, Nagpur and Chandigarh. All have been sent to the protective home at Merces.
