CURCHOREM
Mission Bypass, which is opposing transport of ore from Tilamol, have turned down the assurance given by Mines department that trucks will ply at less than 40 km per hour speed and at least 5 minute time gap maintained between two trips. The protesters are firm on the demand on first having a mining corridor and then only they will allow ore transport.
On Wednesday, the director of Mines department Prasanna Acharya met a delegation of Mission Bypass and appealed them to withdraw their agitation. He said that the government has taken appropriate steps to ensure the safety of people. He however did not make any assurance on mining corridor and said that acquisition of land in forest area is not an easy task.
He said, “There is no need for the people to come on to the roads. The issue can be solved through suggestions and dialogue with the government.”
