PANAJI: Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar has announced implementation of the 7th Pay Commission recommendations from November 1 this year.
Speaking during the demand for grants for the year 2016-17, Parsekar informed the legislative assembly that the government has decided to accept the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission. He said, “Government has decided to accept the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission and an order to this effect will be issued within this month before the (Ganesh) Chaturthi festival.”
He further said that the implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission recommendations will be effective from November 1 this year, that is, the salaries disbursed on November 1 will be based on the revised pay scale. However, he further said that the arrears for the ten months would be deposited in the general provident fund (GPF) and the national pension scheme (NPS).
