Rubbishing the surveys released by national media, Aam Aadmi Party on Wednesday stated that its pre-poll survey, conducted by anonymous cadre, has revealed that the party will win 24 seats with 42 per cent total vote share.
Addressing the media in his party office, Panaji AAP candidate Valmiki Naik said that during the Delhi elections in 2013 the media had not favoured the party and the results showed a vice-versa result.
Based on an internal survey undertaken in all 40 constituencies where 10,000 voters responded, Naik said “AAP received 41.90 per cent of the vote share followed by BJP 25.10 per cent and Congress received 14.50 per cent… We expect to get 24 seats.” He further said that the BJP’s alliance partners have created their own different alliances and “therefore they are fighting their own people in every constituency.”
“The party which ruled the state during the last five years today cannot say who their chief ministerial candidate is,” he added. Stating that of the 10,000 respondents, 43 per cent responded in favour of Elvis Gomes as their chief minister, Naik said “People see a capable, young and educated team with a credible and experienced captain. From the survey it is apparent that the people of Goa have confidence in Elvis Gomes and Aam Aadmi Party to form the next government and run the state for the next five years.”
