GUIRIM
Guirim gram sabha on Sunday witnessed discussions on issues like choking of nullahs due to careless dumping of mud by builders and leaving it unattended, the need for manning of traffic by traffic personnel at Guirim cross and so on.
On the nullah blockage issue, the locals highlighted that the builders often fail to clear up nullahs after completion of their construction activity at any site and this leads to a lot of problems. They said that the nullahs need to be desilted before the rains.
They also expressed concern over lack of zebra crossing at the busy spot at the Guirim cross. They pointed that the spot witnesses traffic congestion during school hours and in view of the safety of the school children, they said, the road needs to have a zebra crossing marking.
They asked the panchayat to write to the traffic authorities for deployment of a personnel to man the traffic at the spot.
Sarpanch assured the villagers of looking into the above issues. A villager suggested that the panchayat building should be extended to accommodate all the offices like PWD, electricity, post office, even library, under one roof.
The sarpanch said that he will write to the Guirim comunidade to give NOC to the panchayat for construction of a building.
There was another suggestion from a villager that all speed breakers in the village should be painted before the rains to avoid accidents.
The locals raised the issue of Reliance mobile tower, which is proposed to be installed in the village and asked the panchayat to verify all the facts and place before the next gram sabha. Issue of illegal mudfilling in fields at Arradi was also raised. Panchayat secretary Subhash Fatarpekar read out minutes of the last gram sabha.
