Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Wednesday inducted two more ministers into his BJP-led ministry, namely Mauvin Godinho and Vishwajit Rane.

Both the newly-appointed ministers are former Congress leaders. Godinho and Rane were administered the oath of office and secrecy by Governor Mridula Sinha at a special function organised at the Raj Bhavan.

While Vishwajit resigned from the Congress party and as MLA on the day of the floor test in the state assembly on March 16 before joining the BJP last week, Godinho had switched over to the BJP from the Congress party shortly before the February 4 state assembly polls.

The Parrikar-led cabinet now includes five ministers from BJP (including the Chief Minister), three from Goa Forward Party, two from the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party and two Independents.

Speaking to the media at the Raj Bhavan, Parrikar said that he will be allotting portfolios to the newly-inducted ministers apart from additional portfolios to all cabinet ministers by April 17 or 18. He said that the third portfolios will be allotted to the ministers after the next assembly session.
