Newly inducted cabinet minister Mauvin Godinho Wednesday said that he feels fortunate to be working with Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar even as he said that he is not craving for any portfolio.
A former Congress leader, Godinho, who joined BJP ahead of the recently held state assembly polls, was Wednesday administered the oath of office and secrecy by Governor Mridula Sinha at a function organised at the Raj Bhavan.
“I tell myself how fortunate I am to be where I am. It is an opportunity to work with the tallest leader of the state. I am not craving for any portfolio. I am ready to accept any task that will be assigned to me. I believe in a more inclusive model of economic growth and development,” Godinho said after taking the oath.
“The task ahead of us will be extremely challenging, as a lot of financial support from the Centre will be required and as we continue to complete the ongoing projects and devise new schemes, a lot of good things will happen in Goa under the leadership of Parrikar,” he said.
Taking a dig at the Congress party, Godinho said that the party that he represented for many years is in no mood to change or reform itself. “The Congress party and its national leaders have lost connectivity with the people and this can be learnt from the recent debacle faced by it in four state assembly elections held recently,” he said.
