Ayyappa temple, Margao is celebrating sixth annual Prathishta Vaarshika Mahotsavam on June 7 and 8 with special poojas, cultural activities and religious festivities. Ayyappa temple, Margao with Shree Dharmasasta as main deity and Ganapathi and Shanta durga as Upadevathas are built based on Vaastu Shastra and Kerala temple architecture with Shatadhara Prathishta.
This year’s annual Pratishta day (idol installation) poojas will be performed by temple chief priest Brahmashree Elamann Shankaranarayanan Namboodiri as per tantric traditions and temple rituals. On June 7 morning there will be a Navagraha Homam at the temple which will be followed by Sarpa Pooja, Sarpa Bali and Bhagavath Seva in the evening. On the Prathishta day on June 8, there will be special poojas from 5 am with Ashtadravya Ganapathi Homam, Yogiswara Pooja, Ashtabhishekam, Mrutyunjaya Homam, Thimilapani Kalabhabhishekam, Pushpabhishekam, Shreebhutabali etc.
There will be a cultural programme by children below the age of 15 in the evening. The temple will remain open till 10 pm for darshan for the public. Ayyappa Seva Sangham, Margao has made arrangements to all devotees visiting the temple to participate in the Prathishta day special poojas and get the blessings of Lord Ayyappa.
