MARGAO: Claiming that the coalition government in the state has done an excellent work in the last 100 days by simplifying a lot of procedures in a time-bound manner, Revenue Minister Rohan Khaunte, on Thursday, said that mamlatdars and deputy collectors are given targets to clear the pending cases by September 2017.
It may be recalled that for the last many years, mutation, partition and other cases are pending.
After holding a review meeting with the South Goa Collector Swapnil Naik and his subordinate officers, the minister said that in the last 100 days, the officials have managed to dispose of around 1000 cases out of the total of 3000 pending cases.
“We have started simplifying procedures in a time-bound manner. The time-bound services will be started from July 8 and the responsibility will be given to an officer to ensure that the work is done in time. The government will provide the officials with a support system because the intent of the government is to deliver,’’ Khaunte said.
The minister disclosed that within the next 45 days, the South Goa Collectorate will be having a citizens service centre and officials will be deputed to assist citizens who are not familiar with the use of online services. Khaunte said that Collectorate records will be fully digitalised so as to make them easily available to the people.
“We are working on case management software to help speed up cases. IVRS system will also be introduced while commencing the digital call centres. The responsibility of delivering online services is given to the District Collectors,” he added. He said that the procedure of recruiting talathis has started and the contractual system of employees will also be reviewed.
To a question on mundkarial cases, he said a mamlatdar will be given the responsibility to look into the matter.
