CURCHOREM
The newly-constructed road that passes through Curchorem-Margao via Chandor is in condition that is not safe for motorists at Hodar and is become a danger zone.
The road has been constructed by cutting the steep terrain and is ready but not thrown open to vehicles as yet.
Presently, the traffic moves on the old road which is around 10-feet high from the new stretch. Locals want barricades placed at the spot for clear diversion once it is thrown open. The old road is also become a concern for the motorists due to its weak condition that could result in caving in.
When contacted the contractor Diwaker Dessai, he informed that the contract of the said road was not allotted to him. “I had only supplied labour for the work,” he said.
People have requested the concerned authorities to inquire into the matter and take appropriate steps to avoid any untoward incident.
