SANKHALI: Sankhali MLA Dr Pramod Sawant has said that around 200 farmers from Sankhali and surrounding areas will be benefiting during this monsoon due to a bandhara constructed by WRD at Navelim.
Sawant was addressing the gathering after unveiling the bandhara development project constructed by WRD at Durigwada Navelim at a cost of Rs 23 lakh.
Navelim sarpanch Adv Deepesh Gawas, deputy sarpanch Swati Mainkar, panch members Gopinath Gawas, Khushali Naik, Deepak Naik, Suman Gawas and Karuna Mahale, Mangaldas Gawas, Sakharam Gawas, Vishwambhar Gawas, Pradeep Gawas, Vithal Gawas, Kalidas Gawas, Betu Gawas, Narayan Gawas, Tulshidas and others were present.
Dr Sawant also lauded the efforts of Navelim village panchayat members for making a constant follow up of the project.
Navelim sarpanch Deepak Gawas said construction of this bandhara was possible due to the co-operation of Sankhali MLA Dr Sawant. He also informed that the water from the river Mandovi will be diverted to farms with the help of this bandhara.
The function was compered by deputy sarpanch Swati Mainkar while, Gopinath Gawas proposed the vote of thanks.
