The dead body of the minor girl, who was allegedly killed by a French woman, who had adopted her, has been handed over to her biological parents by Anjuna police.
Meanwhile, police is awaiting the return of a family member of the French woman to conduct the autopsy.
After the arrival of the parents, an autopsy was conducted on the body of the seven-year-old girl Deepa Ramagosami where the cause of death is revealed as asphyxia. The body has been handed over to the family who will perform final rites in their native village in Karnataka.
According to Anjuna police, the husband of the French woman Sevrine Figere is not well and undergoing treatment in a hospital in France.
It may recalled that on Friday, French national Sevrine Figere staying in a rental house at Anjuna since last three months along with her husband and adopted daughter Deepa Ramagosomi.
Two weeks back her husband Martin had gone back to France and on Friday, she allegedly committed suicide by slitting her throat with blade after killing the girl by smothering her. She had left a suicide note addressing her parents and husband.
