Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) sleuths conducted a raid at Alankar Theatre, Mapusa and seized outdated masala packets worth Rs 27,000 and closed down two illegal fast food outlets late evening on Thursday.
According to information, the team comprising Rajiv Korde, Richard Noronha, Ankita Palyekar, Madhav Kavlakar under the guidance of Salim Veljee conducted the surprise raid to check fast food and the condition in which they were being prepared.
A vendor of M/s Sitaram Sawant stall failed to produce licence and was asked to shut down. Some restaurants in the vicinity were found to be using food colour wherein the stock was destroyed and memo issued. Expired masala worth Rs 27,000 was taken into custody from the premises of M/s Chunky Chicken, and M/s Aflatoon near the Masjid was found operating in unhygienic condition without FSSAI licence and was closed down.
