Banjara youth association holds felicitation in Vasco

Goa Banjara Youth Association (GBYA) felicitated four scribes of print and electronic media from Vasco for Atheir outstanding role in social field during the Inter Banjara Cultural Competitions ‘Satrangi-2016’ which was held at Veer Savarkar auditorium at Ravindra Bhavan, Baina Vasco recently.
The scribes felicitated were, Sudesh Bhosle, Navin Jha, Hiru Mahale and Prasad Naik. The felicitation were held at the hands of Dabolim MLA Mauvin Godinho in the presence of Minister for Science and Technology Alina Saldanha, Sardar Sevalal Maharaj, National Banjara leader Kishanrao Rathod, Anand Angadi, Hiralal Rathod, Dr Krishna Pawar, Anita Thorat and the Goa Banjara Youth Association president Ganesh Lamani.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Science and Technology Saldanha praised the GBYA for their initiative in organising the cultural event which helps the community to expose their hidden talent.
Dabolim MLA Godinho extended support for the Banjara community and stressed on the regularisation of houses which would help thousands of people in the state including those of the Banjara community to have their own homes.
The overall Champions of the ‘Satrangi 2016’ were Goa Banjara Birla troupe, while the runners up trophy was bagged by Banjara Bijapur Karnataka troupe. The Mr and Miss Banjara contest was won by team Banjara Chitradurga.
The programme was compered by Jaishree Lamani while vote of thanks was proposed by Ganesh Lamani.
