MARGAO: All-India Congress Committee (AICC) secretary Chella Kumar, on Friday, claimed that all the Congress leaders in Goa are united, and “are ready to push the BJP out, the way the British rulers were done, before the Independence of the country.”
Kumar was speaking at the inauguration of the three-day programme of the Goa Pradesh Congress Seva Dal at Fatorpa.
“We are united on the eve of 2017 election. We together will push the BJP out in the forthcoming election,” he said adding that the Congress party has prepared the charge-sheet of the BJP and that of the AAP in Delhi.
The Congress is the only party which can tackle terrorism in the country, he added.
Goa Pradesh Congress committee president Luizinho Faleiro said that the BJP leaders at the centre and in the state have failed to fulfil their promises, adding the BJP government has failed to fulfil the promises of bringing black money back, according special status to Goa, and others.
“The state is in the debt trap. The loans are huge,”he lamented. Leader of Opposition Pratapsingh Rane, while ‘exposing the BJP and its misrule in Goa,’ said that parents should be given freedom to choose the language of instruction they want for their children.
“Language is just medium of communication. It should not be made into an issue. If the Congress comes to power, we will resolve the issue threadbare,” he added.
Chandrakant Kavlekar urged the leaders to be united to fight the election and win it.
“We need to iron out the differences,” he maintained. The national leader of Seva Dal Priyani Jann highlighted the performance of the frontal organization – Seva Dal in the other states. The state leader of Seva Dal Shankar Kirlapalkar also spoke on the occasion.
