MAPUSA : Following the direction of the chief election officer, a special council meeting was held on Sunday at Mapusa municipal council where all booth level officers of the constituency were present. An enrollment drive was also held on the occasion.
During the special council meeting councillors present were handed copies of relevant electoral roll and were directed by MMC chairperson Sandip Falari to coordinate with BLOs and provide them information pertaining to new voters and also about those who have passed away.
Addressing the council meeting chairperson Sandip Falari in the presence of chief officer Clen Madeira who is also ERO for Mapusa constituency said, “We are having a special drive for summary of revision roll till October 14”.
Madeira who is also ERO for Mapusa said, “On October 7 a special drive will be held for students of St Xavier’s Saraswat colleges where students who will be 18 years as on July 1, 2017 will be enrolled”.
The special meeting was attended by all except vice chairperson Marlene D’Souza, councillor Ryan Braganza, Sanjay Mishal, Annie Alphonso and Alpa Bhaidkar.
